It’s been a busy week of rallies hearing from tipped workers, restaurant and bar owners, community and labor groups, local city council members about why HB 1208 is wrong for Colorado. This terrible bill will cut tipped workers wages as much as $8000/year in Denver. Community groups including Working Families Party Colorado, CWA 7777, Coloradans for the Common Good, Colorado Young Democrats, and Boulder DSA have come together in solidarity against this oppressive and out of touch bill. In a time of economic instability, political turmoil, and a struggling economy, cutting workers’ wages is not the solution. The data shows that cutting wages hurts local economies.
